Jnana Satra held at Kandi‎, Medak dist

Jnana Satra held at Kandi‎, Medak dist on NH 9, Andhra Pradesh on 09 January 2010.

The Jnana sattra at Kandi started with introduction of Kshetra Mahima* by Pt. Lakshminarayana Achar. He elaborated about visit of Shri 1008 Shri Medhanidhi Teertharu of Mulbaghal Mutt to Kandi during his DigVijaya yatra in early 1900s. When the pontiff was performing Lord Shri Gopinatha pooja and later offered pooja to Vyasa pratista Hanumantha, a significant incident took place, which emphasizes “SarvaVyaptatva” of Sri Hari. A tiger from the forest strolled into the pooja mandir and people were frightened and ran away. Whereas the pontiff remained calm and completed pooja and went near the tiger and gave it teertha and applied Angara Akshate to it and the tiger left the place. The pontiff saw Sri Hari in the tiger and offered it due respect.

There were three Sriman NyayaSudha pundits from Jaya Muni Seva Samithi Trust, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad & other parts of Hyderabad and Gulbargaat at the Jnana sattra. More than 50 grahastas joined to seek Jnana. This was a good occasion to start the functions leading to Madhva Navami celebrations for year 2010. The function started with everybody completing their Ahnnika by 5 AM and was ready for Sumadhva Vijaya parayana and abhiseka karyakrama to Shri Veda Vyasa devaru and Madhvacharya. Yes, Kandhi is unique place where one can witness prathista of Veda Vyasa devaru and Madhvacharya together. The prathista is such like Acharya is very humbly sitting infront of Vyasa devaru seeking knowledge.

Along side panchamrutha abhisheka started and was accompanied by Hari Vayu Stuti punascharana by pundits and grahastas assembled there. This was followed by pravachana by all the pundits on Sumadhva Vijaya. All the 16 sargas were shared among the pundits. All of them delivered the gist of assigned sargas as the time didn’t permit them to elaborate on the subject.

This was followed by an hour long bajana karyakrama by bakthadigalu who came from `various parts of Hyderabad, Gulbarga. Later teertha prasada was served and all the pundits were duly hounoured by the host Suneel Deshmukh and family.

Kandi hosts Panduranga Vittala as presiding deity and hosts Veda Vyasa devaru along with Madhvacharya, Sri Lakshmi Narayana devaru, Ganga devi and a beautiful sarovara. Besides there is prathishta of Siva, and his parivara.

Kandi is a serene location for those wishing to do their sadhana by being far away from the city life.
